Chinkultic
Country: Mexico.

Site located in the west end of the Mayan Culture, between the years of 591 to 897 D.C, when 875 is 100 years after the existence of Palenque or Yaxchilán. We can see several structures in the site, but the most reconstructed one is the one called "Mirador" which stands on a hill and from where you can observe the fields, lagoons and homesteads all around. Also just under the Mirador a sinkhole (cenote) 50 meters deep exists from where, people say, offerings were thrown in and maidens were sacrificed. The woman of the Cabins Doña María says that she remembers when she was small seeing helicopters that descended to plunder the offerings inside the cenote. One also can observe a ball game and several stone marking.
