· Passports & Visas: All visitors to Guatemala must have a valid passport and a visa or tourist card. Most Western European citizens can enter the country holding only a valid passport. Visas can be obtained in any Guatemalan embassy. All tourist and commercial visas are valid for 30 days commencing on the date of arrival. The tourist cards are obtained in any entrance point to Guatemala, the border or airport and it is valid for three months. Citizens from Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, or any other member of the Commonwealth, must obtain a visa prior to arrival.
Visitors from the following countries do not require a visa: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Israel, Japan, Luxembur, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States.
· ACustoms: Ther is no limit on the amount of money you can carry into and out of Guatemala, local or international currency. The Quetzal is very difficult to convert in other countries so we recommend you to exchange your money before leaving Guatemala.
Products free to enter the country without paying taxes:
* cigarrettes or 99g of tobacco;
* 1,5 litres (2 bottles) of alcohol;
* 2 bottles of perfume.
